Overview
Refund Policy Overview
I AM University operates as a non-degree educational institution. This Refund Policy governs the terms under which enrolled students may cancel their enrollment and receive a full or partial refund of tuition and fees paid to the institution.
This policy applies to all programs offered by I AM University. By enrolling in any program, you agree to the terms of this Refund Policy. We encourage you to review this policy carefully before completing enrollment and to contact us with any questions.
No Federal Financial Aid
I AM University does not participate in federal Title IV financial aid programs. There are no federal student aid funds associated with enrollments at this institution. Refunds are processed against tuition payments made directly by students. This policy does not apply to Title IV returns, as no such funds are received or disbursed.
Refund Schedule
Refund Schedule by Cancellation Window
The following refund schedule applies to all standard program enrollments. The cancellation window is calculated from the date of the student's official enrollment confirmation, not the program start date, unless the program has not yet begun, in which case the program start date is used.
| Cancellation Window | Refund Amount |
|---|---|
| Within 7 days Days 1–7 from enrollment | 100% Full Refund |
| 8 to 14 days Days 8–14 from enrollment | 75% Refund |
| 15 to 30 days Days 15–30 from enrollment | 50% Refund |
| 31 days or more Day 31+ from enrollment | No Refund |
Calculating your refund window: Day 1 is the date you receive your enrollment confirmation email. Weekends and holidays are included in the count. If you have questions about your specific enrollment date or refund eligibility window, contact us before submitting a cancellation request.
Fee Structure
Non-Refundable Fees
The following fees are non-refundable regardless of when a cancellation request is submitted:
- Application Fee (if applicable) — Covers the cost of reviewing and processing an application for admission.
- Technology/Platform Fee (if assessed separately) — Covers the cost of platform provisioning, licensing, and technical infrastructure.
- Third-Party Transaction Fees — Payment processing fees charged by third-party payment processors are not refundable by the institution.
For programs where tuition is billed as a single inclusive fee with no separate itemization, the refund schedule above applies to the total program fee.
Process
How to Request a Refund
Submit a Cancellation Request in Writing
Send an email to support@iamuniversity.us with the subject line "Enrollment Cancellation Request — [Your Full Name]." Include your full name, enrollment date, program name, and reason for cancellation (optional but helpful).
Receive Confirmation
We will acknowledge receipt of your cancellation request within 2 business days and confirm your cancellation date and the refund amount you are eligible for based on the schedule above.
Refund Processing
Approved refunds are processed within 10–14 business days of cancellation confirmation. Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at enrollment. If the original payment method is no longer available, we will work with you to arrange an alternative refund method.
Refund Confirmation
You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed. Please allow additional time for your financial institution to post the refund to your account (typically 3–7 business days).
Special Circumstances
Exceptions & Extenuating Circumstances
We recognize that students may face unexpected circumstances that affect their ability to continue their enrollment. We consider exception requests on a case-by-case basis for situations involving:
- Serious illness or medical emergency — A documented serious illness or medical emergency affecting the student or an immediate family member. Supporting documentation (e.g., physician's letter) may be required.
- Death of an immediate family member — Bereavement circumstances may qualify for exception consideration.
- Military deployment or activation — Students who are called to active duty military service may cancel and receive a full refund of unearned tuition regardless of the standard refund window. A copy of deployment orders is required.
- Institutional inability to deliver the program as described — If the institution makes material changes to a program after enrollment that significantly alter the program as advertised, a student may be eligible for a full refund regardless of the standard refund window.
- Program deferral request — Students who cannot complete a program due to qualifying circumstances may request a deferral rather than a cancellation. Deferrals allow the student to retain their enrollment credit and resume the program at a future date, subject to program availability.
Exception requests must be submitted in writing to support@iamuniversity.us within 30 days of the circumstance giving rise to the request. The institution will review the request and respond within 10 business days. Exception decisions are at the discretion of institutional leadership and are final unless appealed under the Student Complaint Policy.
Dispute Resolution
Refund Disputes
If you disagree with a refund determination, you may pursue resolution through our Student Complaint Policy. Refund disputes should be submitted as a formal written complaint within 30 days of the refund determination.
Students are encouraged to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with their financial institution. Initiating a chargeback without first pursuing our internal dispute process may delay resolution and affect your enrollment status.
